I am also researching the KALB famiy of Highlandtown, Balto.,MD. I don't believe there is a direct connection to your Kalb/Wachter tree, but maybe further back. My first known Kalbs lived at 418 S. Lehigh in the 1930 census. This was John George and Marie Clara (Copper)Kalb, my grandparents. They had 16 children. I have been told that John G.'s father was also a John and he was born in Germany. John and Marie named their sons John, Matthew, George, Lawrence, Hubert, Earl, Charles (my father), Joseph and Wilson, which makes me think these names are a family tradition and somehow related to the other Kalbs of the same names. Almost all of them are buried in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Prior to 1930, the family lived on 12th St. and I believe Streeper. John G. worked for the railroad. He was born Aug.12,1895 and died Feb.27, 1952.
Does any of this relate to anything you have?
