Katherina Kallis Friedenstal >N. Dakota

I am looking for information on the siblings, parents, and descendants of Katherine (Katherina) Kallis, b. August 12, 1865 in Friedenstal, Bessarabia. She married Ludwig Aichele in Arcis in December 1885 and immigrated to the US in 1903. Nine of their 10 children were born in Friedenstal as well between 1886 and 1901. Unfortunately, Katherine Kallis is not listed in the book Friedenstal in Bessarabien. The book is very complete but not fool-proof. I have found typos in it and omissions so perhaps Katherine Kallis Aichele is one of those omissions.

I made the assumption (still needs confirmation!) that Katherina's parents were Andreas and Louise (Kuck) Kallis based on a 5-year gap in the birth records for their seven children at the same time Katherine was born. The book Friedenstal in Bessarabien does not list Katherina Kallis in the family history section. There are only two Kallis families listed in the book whose children's births span the time from 1860 to 1866. These were the family of Jakob and Karolina (Maier) Kallis and Andreas and Louise (Kuck) Kallis. Several of the children of Jakob and Karolina Kallis are listed as dying in WWII, fleeing to the Caucasus or Argentina, or dying in Friedenstal (instead of immigrating to America). Katherine's birth on August 12, 1865 would be impossible for Louise Kallis considering she gave birth to Karolina on March 26, 1864 and Michael on June 28, 1866. No death or immigration information is listed for the children of Andreas and Louise Kallis. All of their children were female. Additional research of ship records or other contacts will place Katherine more accurately. Katherine spoke English. Her husband Ludwig spoke English poorly, if at all. They settled in Hurdsfield, Wells County, North Dakota. After Ludwig Aichele died and Katherine was elderly, she moved to Walla Walla, Washington to be with one of her children. She is buried in the Mt. Hope Seventh-day Adventist cemetery in College Place Washington. Any tidbits or clues to confirm her parentage would be greatly appreciated. I have a large file on Aichele-Kallis relatives in Family Tree Maker. A large percent of the interconnections listed in the book Friedenstal in Bessarabien book has been entered.

Other info:
Listed on St. Petersburg Archives as Katharina Kallis, Bessarabian Village Marriage Records, 188x, R. Drefs
Born Katharina Kallis. Gravesite visited by C. Hoag in November 1999 and April 2000; headstone says Katherine Aichele.
