My name is Helga. I have noticed, albeit they are old posts, referencing information about Katherina Kallis. My Grandmother was Therese or Teresie Beck born in Helenowka, December 11, 1900. Her mother was Elisabetha Kallis, married to Gottlieb Beck (Friedenstal). I believe Katherina was her sibling.
Unfortunately, my Oma left few documents. I know that she married Freidrich Drefs on October 20th 1923. I am trying to trace her mother and father as well as search for my Opa, Freidrich. His last known location was by word of mouth to my Oma before she left Bessarabia for Germany (1940) where she was told he was a Russian Prisoner of War in Siberia. We have never located him. My Oma immigrated with her daughter Emilie married to George Wendelberger to Canada. She met an American name Theodore Ghezin and remarried when searches for her husband through the German courts determined his death (although never verified) in the late 1950's. She ultimately settled in Minneapolis, MN and passed away in the late 1980's. I do not think she was aware that her mother's sister had settled in the United States. I remember she talked about some of her family fleeing to South America. My immediate family, followed her to Minneapolis.
I thought you might find this interesting. I found your information with a search on google. It may help you with your family tree.
