Kaltenbach Research
I am attempting some research on E. Kaltenbach and would like to know if anyone may have information on him.He was a clock maker in Germany many years ago.I found the name stamped on the brass back plate of a clock mechanism, inside an old shelf/mantle clock that my Dad acquired in Germany in the early 1950's.It was old even then I believe. It's a very nice piece of work that has a painted enamel front panel depicting a hunter with a dead deer and hunting dog, in a black wood case that's about 24" tall and 18" wide.A clock repairman told me several years ago that he had never seen this type of clock before, but had heard about "apline hunters clocks," and this may be one.
I am very curious about this clock, but have been unable to find any information on the type or on Mr. E. Kaltenbach. Does anyone know of clock makers in the Kaltenbach family line? Many thanks.Direct email replies may be sent to [email protected] and [email protected]
