Since this is an old post, you may already have found this information. If you do get this reply, please email me. I'm interested in knowing more about the other lines of John Conrad's family. I am a descendant of John's son Frederick, who changed the family name to Kemp in Ohio.

John Conrad arrived in Phil, Penn Aug 17, 1733 with his five children - (ship Samuel, Hugh Perry, Master). John Conrad was the son of Christian and grandson of Frederick Von Der Kampf of Canton of St. Kallen, Switzerland.

Nationality is Swiss, not German. All land grants, wills, deeds, & records show Kampf. The original King's Land grants 879 sq. miles.
