From the Council Grove (Kansas) Republican, March 28, 1941, page 1:

FRED CAMPMIRE DIES
Fred Campmire, 85, a resident of Morris county for the past 35 years, died at the home of his son, George Campmire, southeast of Council Grove at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Born in Peoria, Ill, Mr. Campmire moved his family here in 1906 and settled on the present Hadway farm, seven miles northeast of town.

Surviving are a brother, Henry and the following children, who all make their homes in the Council Grove community: Mrs. Myrtle Sawyer, Charlie, Ray, George and Ralph Campmire. Frank Campmire, Kansas City, Mo, and Fred Campmire, Bushton, are two other sons of the deceased.

Funeral arrangements were not complete this afternoon.

FUNERAL SUNDAY
Funeral services for Fred Campmire will be held in the Durland-Block funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Ray Lessig will read the final rites. Burial will be in the Beman cemetery.
