Carlyon, I don't have any information on your Caty but I did want to make you aware that I am also looking for descendants of this John Kanatzer of Rowan. I descend from a Joseph Kanatzer of Franklin and Miller counties of Missouri. His wife was named Elizabeth and was supposedly born in Tennessee. However, husband Joseph (1806-1878) was shown as being born in North Carolina (about 1806). Therefore he is probably from a Rowan Co. Kanatzer who did NOT go to Madison Co., KY or to Mason Co., KY where some of the descendants ended up. And John fits that bill well for being a possible father. I cannot find any trees posted on the Internet who have any children listed for John and Nancy (Howard)Kanatzer/Conatser, so we're conducting our search with little help from other researchers. Perhaps over time others will see your post or mine and be able to suggest other children that may tie in. Because Elizabeth was born TN, I would have to assume that they married in Tennessee. If Joseph was indeed the grandson of Johannes Nicholas Kanatzer of Rowan, then he may have joined his grandfather in Fentress Co., TN. I cannot find him and Elizabeth (md about 1828) in any census in 1830, but in 1840 they were in Franklin Co., MO.
