The family of Peter and Sarah (COOK) Kanouse

I am a VAN DER COOK family researcher of over twenty years standing. Hendrick VanDerCook, my 5th great grandfather's next eldest sibling, pared the surname down to COOK quite early on. Sarah Cook, a daughter of Hendrick's son, Henry Cook, married a Peter Kanouse. Sarah was born 26 October, 1792 in New Jersey and died in 1869. She married Peter about 1815. Peter was born in August, 1790 in Rockaway Valley, Pequannock Twp., Morris Co., NJ and is supposed to have died at Burns Twp., Shiawassee Co., MI in August of 1870. (He appears to have been enumerated with his son, Edmund/Edwin/Edward Kanouse, in the 1870 US Census...the page is badly faded and thus is a bear to read.) Peter and Sarah's children were Jacob Kanouse (1817-1903, married Mabel DRAKE, four children), Edmund/Edwin/Edward Kanouse (1818-1883, married Nancy M. KELLER, four children), Joseph Kanouse (c1820-dy), Peter Kanouse, Jr. (1822-1890, married Lorilla WALCOTT, five children), Agnes Kanouse (1824-?, married John P. DRAKE) and Mary Ann Kanouse (1826-dy). Jacob and Peter, Jr. and their families were enumerated in Cohoctah Twp., Livingston Co., MI in both 1870 and 1880. Ed and family were enumerated in Burns Twp., Shiawassee for both of those censuses. These people are all VanDerCook/Cook family descendants. I have information on that side of the family that I am willing to share.
