George Kanzeg was my grandfather. George Kanzeg (who may be the youngest Kanzeg brother and son of Jacob)was b.1912/ d.1984. Married Ida. He had 3 children. Lived in Strongsville. I remember Great Uncle Sterling from Christmas' together at my grandparents home. I'm not sure if his nickname was Fritz or Spitz. I remember my father speaking of his cousin Mickey. There is a cousin A. Schnieder who may still be in Strongsville area. Story has it that Jacob may have had to leave Switzerland for unsavory reasons. I don't know details. The family name was altered because all the boys worked in the slaughter houses on the West side and their paychecks were often messed up or lost. They solved the problem by slightly altering the last name. Some kept the ig others changed it to eg. Some changed the a (Kanzeg) to e (Kenzig).
