Thomas Carp a.k.a. Karpinski/Karp 1905

Looking for information on the Carp Family. My gfr Thomas Carp and his wife Sophie Slomski immigrated around 1904.
They spoke Polish, but the family said they were White Russians.
Their oldest son, my father, John, was born in Erie, PA in 1905. They settled in Grand Rapids, MI.
Subsequent children:
Benjamin
Stephen
Alexander
Louis (went by Karpinski)
Sophie (married Joseph Krucki)
Leo (died in High School)

I have no information on my Aunts and Uncles or their families. Some of the family changed the spelling of Carp, but my father insisted that it was CARP in the old country.

Also, does anyone know a Roman Catholic Church that served the Polish community in Erie, PA in 1905. I would like to find my father's Baptismal Records.
