That's interesting. I'm the third and final John C. Karp, from the bay area. We/they lived between Marin County, San Francisco and the south bay between the 1880s to the mid 1970s. My great grandfather was John Henry Karp, married to Maria Eberhardt (spelling may be different). I've traced them back to the 1880s but with Archive records destroyed around that period I can't tell when they arrived from Germany, what port, etc. Frustrating!
