Hi Phil,

I’m contacting you about the bible and passport you have belonging to the Karpenstein Family. I may be related to Ida and was hoping you would be able to shed some light on my family research. (whether or not certain names are in the book) Hopefully the book may answer some questions I have about this side of my family.
I will list my oma’s side of the family:
Adam Karpenstein born 1818, ---- Anna Martha Braun born 1819
Konrad Adam Karpenstein born 1849 ---- Elisabeth Mauhs born 1849
Phillip Steinmetz Karpenstein born 1917 ---- Anna Dorothea Maria Noll born 1887
Hans Fritzchen Karpenstein born 1910 ---- Karoline Ida Hahn born 1912
Edeltraud Karpenstein born 1935 (my oma/grandmother) married SCHLUETER
I look forward to your response and any questions you may have. Thank you,
Kurtis Schlueter

“This may be a long shot but I am looking for relatives of an Ida Elisabeth Karpenstein. I purchased her family bible and an old passport belonging to her at an estate sale and would like to return them to a member of her family that can prove they are part of her family. It traces her lineage to a John Henry Karpenstein, born in 1861 in Germany. Ida herself died in California about two years ago or so.”
