Hello Jackie, If the gentleman you are describing shortened his name to Louis Karp and lived in New York during his first marriage,he might be my grandfather. I have very little information on him. My father(David Meyer Karp),might have been from his first marriage. My dad didn't have any siblings. I do know that my grandfather(Louis Karp), left my grandmother when my dad was about 14. Since my dad was born in 1908,it would have been 1927 or thereafter that he remarried. My dad told me that his father was a Boxer who fought for a number of years,I believe the Middle Weight Division. He also told me that he actually fought Joe Lewis! One other thing I remember him telling me was that HIS grandfather was a Rabbi. I'm afraid I don't know my grandmothers name,dad didn't talk about her much at all. Well I don't know if any of this has helped you,I sure hope so..I have been trying for years with very little success.
