My grandfather Barnett (Barney) Karp came here from Russia, but the city was Ostrog. I am not sure of this, but I believe that is the pronunciation of the city. He came to Philadelphia at the turn of the century, and once told me he came to Phila, the same time as McKinley ( the President) was shot.He remembered the event or read it in a newspaper. He was one of 5 siblings. You may want to check Barnett Karp in this Genology. I have never heard of a Michael Karp, but my grandfather did have a brother who was taken into the Czars Army at an early age, and never heard from again. Any thing here of note? please respond. Judy Karp
