There was some interest in Jewish Karps from Eastern Europe or Lithuania. It seems that my end of the Karp lineage originated in northeastern Belarus - a small town near Vitebsk called Usvaty. Most of our known relatives still in the area now live in St. Petersburg. However the name was changed from Karpionek or Korpinok. Any connections?
