My grandfather's name was Louis Karp. Family from Lodz, Poland.

It is believed we were once Karpinski. I have been able to trace immigration from Germany to New York, USA, but no matches in Poland.

I am just picking up my search again after a year and am enjoying all the new information online, especially the history of the name "Karp."

My grandfather and his mother and sister immigrated 4 years before the war. As for the rest of our family, we do not know at this time. I will continue to search.
