The letter we found was written fromFrances (Fannie) Karr to Mrs Etta Gillette of Ft. Wayne Indiana.

My Grandfather and Grandmother on my Mothers side
James Wilson and Nancy McClintock Wilson
G-father Wilson was born in Ireland,emigrated to this country young and setted in Pennsylvania. He was married to my G-mother nancy McClintock in Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio in 1801. Settled on the Stillwater. North of Dayton. Then moved to the headwater of Dicks Creek where they lived until death. G-father Wilson died first in his 84th year. G-Mother lived a few years longer and died in her 86th year.They had 11 children Sons John, Joesph, James, Williams, Matthew, Daughters Mary, the Oldest,(my mother) Jane, Margaret, Ann, Sarah and Nancy.
John was married to Jane Dick. Daughther of Samuel dick of Butler (?) Co. lived nerar Millville ?? County. when first married lived in Lebanon Warren Co. Ohio. was a carpenter by trade and built the house that

my mother purchased of him on the Corner of Mechanic and Silver Sts. Commenced housekeeping in it as soon as they were married. He also carriedon a nail factory.They had large heavy shears that they workedwith a treadle to cut the nail from the bar of iron then put the nail in a vise one at a time and hammered the head on them by hand. Before this time they used wooden pins and wrought nails made by the blacksmiths 1817. After selling his property here he moved to Vera Indiana and built a large Flouring Mill. Some years afterwards he traded the Mill property for town lots in Terra Haute. He traded this property for land some 12 miles North of Terra Haute and laid out a town by the name of NUMA but it was a failute, never grew but little, except the improvements made by himself.

He died there in 1852 his wife died ther in 1880 They had five daughters and one son,Martha married Joh Shields. Nancy married Doctor Benton. Mary married Joseph Shields. Have one son the parents and the son are now living in /(Gainsburg?)Greensburg,, Indiana. Jane married a Doctor, Sarah married a Mr Hedges. Merchant,and all are living at Numa or over the Wasbash in illinios. John the son married at the same place and is living in Illinios. Uncle Joseph Wilosn married Eliza Dick. (Sister of Aunt Jane. Uncle Johns wife). they had two Daughters , Nancy ann, and Martha Jane. He followed merchandising in the town of Roseville now West. Hamilton. His wife died ther in the year 1827 or 28 . pg#4Joseph Blair of Hamilton,(son if Thomas Blair) They had five children three Daughter (names I cannot give)and two sons Thomas and Tergus Anderson, Tergus died when a young man, Thomas married and with mother and sister were living in the western Territories(the mother is now dead)
Martha jane married john Cochran and they live near Glendale. Hamilton County, OHIO. They had a number of children Three or four of their sons are living in Illinois and Iowa one son is still at home with his parents on the farm. Their Oldest daughter Eliza married the RevW?H james. Pastor of the Springdale Church(Presbytarian) Rebecca and Nannie are at home with their parents. Uncle James Wilson was married twice. Had children with both

wives. Some of the children by the firstwife are in California. I don't know where the others (children) are. The daughter by the second wife Samuel Kendrick have four or five children live in Chillicothe O. The son Westley was a Portrait and Landscape painter and divided his time between Cinicinnati and Harrison and Hamilton Co.( I belive he is dead)Uncle William Wilson was a merchant in Middleton O. His health failing he went on a farm near South Bend.Indiana where he lived Forty Years and where he died. He was married foru time and had children with his first three wives. most of his children are dead. but those living are in the same neighborhood. the fourth wife was living the last account we had from them . Ellen McClure, they lived at the old homestead 2 miles west of the Red lion. Warren Co. O.. His wife died june 1855 and he died in 1880. they had two sons and two daughters. the oldest daughter married Henry Todd. and are living in Illinios. have a number of children(I think nine) Mary married James McClemen? had tow children a, one died at birth. and the mother died at the same time in 1866. The son is now a young man living with his father near Blue Ball Butler Co.. John the oldest son married Sarah Gillespie they are living on part of the old homestead they have three children. The oldest daughter married James R Gallaher have two children and live at Middletown O.. The other Daughter married Albert stow have one child, live near Blue Ball Warren Co, O.

The daughter Mary Elama and son Edward Edory, are all living in the old homestead built in 1808 by grandfather Wilson. Jane m my mothers eldest sister married Wilson Smith. In Pennsylvania on the day my Grandfather started to move to Ohio. they lived near Erie , Penn. had a family of children how many I don't know. one of the sons visited us about 18 years ago. Aunt Margarent Ann married John Parks a merchant in Middletown O. after the death of my Grandfather they moved to the old homestead to nurse and take care of her mother who was in poor health. Uncle Parks died about 1850 and Aunt Margaret Ann, about 1856 never having had

any children. Aunt Ann Wilson married Moses KARR. He was a merchant in Middletown Butler, Ohio. Many years on retiring from business he moved on his farm West of Blue Ball where their children grew up. The sold the farm and moved to White Co. Indiana. they both died there. They had a number of Children. Wilson is diead, Mattherw, Tobert, James and john and two daughters, Matthew lives near Kansas City , MO. James and Tobert both dead, Both were single. Robert was entirely blind , caused by a fall when he was 2 years old. John is living on a farm near the twon of Wabash. has a large family, Aunt Sarah, married Robert Karr, (brother to Moses), livied adjoining the village of Blue Ball, where he died in 1839

His wife( Aunt Sarah) died in 1878 near Piqua?, where she was living with her daughter, (Martha Elliott)They had a family of Ten Children Nancy married Madison Shealds, had son James, now living in Iowa his mother died when he was young. the father married again and lived in Iowa, Andrew the Oldest son married and is now living in Iowa or in one of the western states,. James and Moses died young Eliza died before reaching Womanhood. Margaret married Dr Glen and died at Blue Ball.leaving tow daughters(Leodocia and Artemecia) Leodicia(Dora) is married and living out west, somewhere. Artemecia(artic) is married to Scott McClellan and lives in the Villiage of Blue Ball. Martha married Chat Ellioth and

They live in Ft. Wayne , Indiana. Aunt Nancy mothers youngest sister and the youngest of the family married Finley Bigger (son of the late Col. John Bigger and Brother of Governer Samuel Bigger of Indiana) Is a lawyer lives in Rushville, Ind.. his wife ( Aunt nancy) died in 1880. They had four sons and one daughter John, Hamilton,Finley, and William. Finley is married and teaches the high school at Rushville, Ind. the other sons live in some of the eastern states. The daughter Nancy married Dr Pugh. and lives in Rushville has tow children an son and ddughter both married.
