KY George was acquitted of the charges but what was interesting about this was the fact that "King Staton", Benjamine Staton, Perry Staton and John Sorrell all testified for the State. Those posting bond for G.W. were JACKSON MCCARTY, WILLIAM CLAYTON, LINDSEY COLEMAN, THOMAS THORNBURG,WASHINGTON KARRRICK & MASON SPENCE and [James McCLAIN offered himself as security.] The bond was $ 1500.00 I would just like to know who he was supposed to have murdered? Did he do it and just have a good bunch of Jury Members? Very Interesting.
