All I have is Verbal and I do put some stock in those old stories although I know some of the elders do tend to not be 100% factual.

The fact that Amanda was not a McCarty is pretty clear altho she is on the census with AJ and Frankie.
The information I got was from a lady named Olive Wills Anderson Indiana who has since passed away and I ask her if she knew who Amanda's father was and she giggled and said Well....I'm not gonna use the same words I usually do but her father was "Old Pete Shrout" I forgot to ask who her mother was.

I also have a death certificate for DORA KARRICK WILLS and on it it states her parents were George Karrick and Amanda Shrout. The informant was her husband Willie Wills.
To me this is proof enough but what do you have in your Great Grandfathers bio that you might be able to add to this?
