Samuel Kaser (1836)--originally Kaiser
Posted by: Stephen Date: August 05, 2001 at 10:42:20

Samuel Kaser came to America in 1851 with his parents, John and Anna Muster Kaser, and his siblings, Conrad, John, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rudolf, Henry and Mary. Records from the cemetery where Samuel is buried show a few interesting things. First, Samuel was from Zurich. Second, when he first arrived, the family appeared to go by the spelling Kaiser. Samuel purchased a cemetery lot in the Graceland cemetery in Sidney Ohio as "Samuel Kaiser." The first burial there was 1897. His brother, Henry, was buried there in 1898 as "Henry Kaiser." But, sometime before 1910 when he died, he purchased another lot under the name "Samuel Kaser." He is also buried there with a grave marker spelled Kaser.
