I've now found one of the brothers (Jakob) of my great-grandfather (Frederick Daniel Kaser). He immigrated to Indiana (where my great-grandfather also lived for a few years), and his descendants are still living there. HOWEVER, they spelled their name Kaeser, whereas my great-grandfather had simply dropped the umlaut over the 'a', resulting in Kaser.

Now, I'm still trying to track down his other brother that came to the US, Johannes (John), who might have spelled his name either Kaser, Kaeser, or Keaser. He was born in Switzterland in Apr 3, 1840, married Anna Barbara Maurer in 1866, and had three children in Switzerland, Friedrich (1866), Rosa (1868), and Anna (1876). The family emmigrated to the US in 1880 (according to Swiss records).

If anyone has any information about this family and it's descendants, I'm all ears... :-)
