Many Kasers in Austria and South Tyrol (Alto Adige part of Italy)

I never had any intention of how many kasers there are all over the world! I am living in Austria and never been able to find out much about my familys origins.... unfortunately my grandparents and great grandparents never seemed to be interested in their originis and therefore were not able to tell me anything but rumours, that our family originally comes from south tyrol. South Tyrol has been part of Austria, but now is part of Italy (in italian language called Alto Adige). In Austria and South Tyrol there are many Kasers and also Kaserers.
The first origins of Kaser always have to be searched in the neighbourhood of mountains: a cheesemaker (thats what name comes from) used to live in the mountains.

I wont be able to find out anything about my family, but maybe I can help somebody else: If someone needs help in doing research in Austria, South Tyrol....
You can also e-mail me german texts to translate them. Maybe through that there something to reveal about my family too!

Good luck for all of you and greetings from Austria!

Beatrix Kaser
