There's been a not-very-active Kaser DNA surname project underway at Family Tree DNA for the last couple of years. I joined recently as person number 3 or 4, and if we get a few more people joining, we may start to uncover some new Kaser family links. Others reading this forum might also want to join. The downside is, of course, that the tests are not free. (And, like all genealogy, they may reveal skeletons in the family closet.) However, anyone who has already paid for a Y-DNA test through the National Geographic's "Genographic" project should be told that it's easy (and free) to download these test results to the Kaser surname project. This is the route I took. Since the surname project uses the Y chromosome, the test is only for Kaser males. http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=M14499&special=True&projecttype=S Family Tree DNA is apparently only one of several companies hosting such surname projects, I think. If anyone knows of a larger Kaser DNA project elsewhere, kindly respond to this post. Notify Administrator about this message?
