John Kasper 1876-1964---lived Pennsylvania

I am interested in finding out more about my grandfather John & grandmother (?) Kasper/Casper.To my knowledge, my mother (Dorothy Jane, known as DJ) was a late-in-life child, coming maybe 15-20 years after an earlier sister (name unknown). I think that sister had 4 children (maybe all boys) and she died of cancer--uterine, I think.

My grandparents used to live in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia society before the stock market crash. I remember seeing a picture of my grandmother in the city's first automobile; and my grandfather's income had something to do with cars.

My mother was raised by a governess. After the crash, they lived in a log cabin (I think outside of Pittsburgh), and got their water from an outside pump. My mother went to Chatham College on a scholarship.

I always thought my mother's maiden name was "Casper" but according to my grandfather's death certificate, it was Kasper. My grandmother died sometime between 1952-1956.

I know my mother had an aunt (I think on her mother's side) who left her money. I wish I knew more names--maybe some of these facts will identify them.

Hope someone can help me. Dea Draper
