I have traced the family line from my grandfather, Joseph Fredrick Kasper (1898 IN - 1966 KY) to 2nd great grandparents, Nicolauc or Nicholas Kasper and Fancisko or Frances via the censuses. It had been hard to read the handwriting on the microfilm, however, Nicholas & Frances were born in "Pnum'a." I guess it must be Prussia and it may be the part of Germany. I had looked at Nicholas' neighborhood on the microfilm and it looked like they were German people. And on the 1900 Census Madison, IN., their son, Jacob listed Germany as his parents' birthplaces. I don't know when did they come to America.
Nicholas & Frances had lived in Allegheny City, Allegheny Co., PA. Nicholas was born 1829 in Prussia and Frances was born 1830. They had two sons and they were Jacob Joseph Kasper and Mathias Kasper.
Jacob was born April 1851 in PA and died May 1929 in Madison, Jefferson Co., Indiana. Jacob was my great grandfather. He and his wife, Elizabeth had 12 children and they had lived in Madison, In.
I have a little information on Mathias. He was born 1854 and he married Philane (cannot read handwriting on the microfilm -- the 1880 Census Allegheny Co., PA). They had two sons, Jacob, age 2 and Nicholas, 2 months old.
I would like to find the descendants and exchange any more information on the Kasper family. I also, would like to find more ancestors of Nicholas Kasper and Frances (Geb ?)
