Recently finished converting the Germans to America (thru 1875) Kasten listings to spreadsheet format so I could sort lists by arrival date or ship name, etc., and see who was traveling together -- identify family members of individuals.
FYI:
Ferdinand, age 22, est birth year ~1845, M, Farmer, country Germany, destination IL, ship name Tuisko, arr NY Nov 08, 1867 from Bremen.
Accompanied by:
Reinhold Alb., 7, ~1860,Child

Although their destination was listed as Illinois, this is the only potential "Albert" I see of the right age and immigrating in 1867 from this source.

If anybody would like the Microsoft Excel formatted list of Kasten names (there are 212 of them), just give me your email address. I've also saved it as a text file which is readable on my machine using Microsoft Windows WordPad. Please send it with a subject such as "Kasten List" so I don't inadvertantly delete it as junk mail!
