Henry Kasten of Missouri Place of Origin

Dear Forum,

Several of us descendants of Henry Kasten and Elizabeth Bruening have been trying desperately to identify a town of origin in Hannover, Germany where most census documents say they are from. Henry Kasten was born Heinrich Kasten or perhaps a Vorname preceding Heinrich as well. He probably was born around 1825. His wife Elizabetha Bruening was born about 1836. These ages are based on census records. Both hailed from Hannover. We don't know if they were married prior to emigrating to US, around 1855 to 1857. They had nine children in St. Louis, Mo.the oldest being Henry, then Anna( my great-grandmother) and ending up with Edward in about 1879. Any information regarding the possible birthplace of these individuals would be greatly appreciated.

Jim Mark
