I am just beginning genealogy and know little or nothing about my father. My mother told me about my grandmother, saying that she was german and spoke with an accent. She died before I was old enough to know her. My last name was Burlis, and in looking at records recently, I found an Edmond Burlis, who married Anna Kasten in 1883. My father was born in about 1888 I believe and his name was Otto........Otto Burlis. He died when I was 6 or 7 and my mother later remarried. Could this be coincidence? I would really like to find some connections to my forebearers.
Any help appreciated. Jackie Burlis Dobberteen
