Meeting 68 other Kathans (as in Kathy), Kathans (as in Nathan)and hearing about Ka-thans was a delightful experience. Thanks to the organizers we had an opportunity to become acquainted, look in the cemeteries, view houses, farms and locations of forts, see a picture of the top of the famous Bemis Rock and the Connecticut River. Putney had a first class parade on Sat. We wondered if there would be any one to view the parade since everyone seemed to be in it! However, people were lining the streets, waving to us, cheering, thanking us for coming and our ancestors for settling there to create a town. Our pick-up kept gathering additional Kathans along the parade route. Everyone that we met was very friendly. Dinner at the Putney Inn (partial old Kathan residence) was good and well served in a pleasant setting. We hope to have another reunion within 5 years. We hope that many who could not attend this one will be watching for notification of the next one! We need to collect addresses and keep them updated. Hope to see you, Patty Volker
