I am bothered by some info in the Kathan Family book by David Mansfield. On p72. he seems to be using "History of Westminster, Mass., p794" as his source."Martha Moore4 who married Captain John Kathan about 1727, was a daughter of John3 and Hezadiah Fairbanks Moor/Moors and was doubtless born in Lancaster in 1704." Martha Moor Kathan was born in this country some 25 years before supposedly coming from England with Captain John Kathan. How could Alexander have been born at sea in 1729? In fact the earliest Moore anscestors came from England before 1640. I am not in a location to easily look for the answer to this question. Just throwing it out there in case someone wants to tackle it. Patty
