Hi Margaret,
almost all Kathans in Germany are
concentrated in the southern part of
Germany.
Most Kathans however are living in Western
Austria - Vorarlberg - which happens to be
my state of birth.
We know of several Kathans who emigrated to
the US but no records are dated as early as
the time of Capt. John Kathan....
