I have been told that my great-great-great grandmother's maiden name was Kattan. I have been told that orginally the spelling would have been Kathan? Does any one know if this is a possible ? Has any one seen the change like this before.
Her name was Margaret Kattan she was born in Germany in the 1830's. Her father's name was Michael. I do know she married a Kettren and had one child in Germany named Augustine then she immigrated to the Unites States in the late 1860's.
Any information would be helpful.
