My great grandmother was Alzada (Elzader) Kathan, b. abt 1859, in Charleston or Brownington, Vermont. She MAY have been adopted. She marr. William Webster Hawes, abt 1877, and died in 1915, Hereford, Compton Co., QC. Have you ever come across her name in your research?
