Johnson Kaulback(according to Musquodoboit pioneers by the late Jennie Reid)in 1783 german immigrants arrived in N.S. via North Carolina with Lord Charles Montague. He was a grantee serving under Lord Montague and was given a land grant 250 acres Nov. 4 1812.(under the name Colbach) The land is still(as much as I can figure ) in the family and the owner of the land in 1980 was Hugh Kaulback. Johnson died in Mar.13 1834 age 74 yrs. They are buried in upper Stewiake cemetery. During their last years they lived with their granddaughter Harriet Butler. I still do not know who his parents were. Maybe this will help someone.
