Kauthen (Kaut/Kauth) coat of arms, found.
I'd been looking for the family coat of arms for a good long while- and had given up, but I chanced upon a heraldry booth at a local craft show, two weeks ago. Barely had I begun to speak before the tradesman whipped out a book of Irish heraldry- then I told him that my name was German and he would never ever be able to find it.
So he reached down under the desk and pulled out a thick dusty book with yellowed pages, flipped through and showed me this:

I was thrilled to recieve it, finally- I had heard the predominant color was black. I suppose that is a falcon, on the shield. Red stands for military valour. The added cloth wreath on top of the esquire's helmet symbolizes even more military valour, hehe, and the color black symbolizes past tragedies.
Interesting!
I hope you enjoy this- if you hadn't seen it before.
Ich möchte Juergen, besonders für die ganze Hilfe danken. Danke!
