On my gt gt grandfather's death certificate it list his mother as Melvina Caustman. I find no Caustman's in the surnames. I thought how could it be spelled that the informant wasn't aware of? So I looked at the "K" spellings of surnames. I'm thinking the correct spelling may be Kautzman. Melvina was married to Philip Welshiemer b abt 1805 VA but came to Fairfield Co., Ohio. They had children, and Max is my gt gt grandfather. He was born Jan 3, 1859, Amanda, Fairfield Co.,OH. He died 18 April 1909. Others have her name as Melvina Kirkenall so I'm not sure if she remarried after Philip died or what. The Welshimer's can be found in Fayette Co., Ross Co. and Highland Co. I know this is a shot in the dark but I feel it can't hurt to put out "feelers" in case you'd come across the name "Melvina". Laura; LauraF46@aol.com
