Charles K/Cavanagh b abt 1842 Dublin

Looking for any possible information about my Charles born about 1842 in Dublin. My maiden name is "Kavanagh" and the family believed it was always spelt this way, however some family records are now coming to light with the "Cavanagh" spelling. Neither Charles nor his wife Bridget Butler (b abt 1845, Kilkenny)could write at the time of their childrens births in Yorkshire, England (1869 - 1881). This is why some children are listed with different spellings. My GGrandather Michael Joseph is listed with a C on his birth certificate and on the 1881 census but with a K on his marriage certificate in 1900.....

Where did Bridget and Charles meet ? Dublin/Liverpool (presuming this was the gateway to the UK)/Yorkshire ? First child born in Halifax in 1869...

Any information or help moving forward would be very much appreciated.....
