May or may not be connected, but Looking for descendants of Daniel and Mary (nee Murphy) Kavanagh and their two sons James and John of Ballintim, Toome (now Camolin) who departed Dublin, Ireland early 1848. Port of Arrival is New Orleans where they lived until 1854 and then moved on to St. Louis to live. James occupation while in US is given as clerk in a Drug Store and John is listed as an Apprentice Harness Maker.

Back home in Ballintim, There is a Daniel (possible son of the above) listed as a tenant on the Mountnorris Estate (Annesley) 1852. Details are as follows “Lease dated 1st April, 1817, now depending on life of Daniel Kavanagh aged abt 42 years.”

Also a Stephen Kavanagh listed as tenant on an adjoining piece of land on the above estate and Lease is as follows; “Lease dated 1st April, 1817, for life of Stephen Kavanagh, now aged abt 36 years”.

Honor, sister of Mary Kavanagh married a Whelan and lived at NY, Rushville, Yates Co,.

If this rings any bells, would love to hear from you.

Kindest
John G.
