John Miller Kavanaugh (b. 1799/1800) and Samiramus Shelton Woods (1805-1841) migrated with their families from Madison County KY to Franklin County TN between 1800 and 1812. She is buried in Smith Cemetery, Beans Creek, Franklin County TN.

Family oral tradition says he started drinking heavily and took daughter Lucy Ann to live with relatives. 1850 census has Lucy Ann Kavanaugh, age 18, living with her uncle Thomas Harris Woods and wife Appoline/Appeline in the Old Salem/Beans Creek area.

Are there any descendants of either family who have more information about this? Anyone who knows what happened to John Miller Kavanaugh and/or where he is buried?

I have plenty of info on the Miller, Kavanaugh, Harris, and Woods families further back. Lucy Ann Kavanaugh Draper is my 2nd great grandmother.
