Posted by: Dona VanVoorst (ID *****1769) Date: December 02, 2011 at 02:05:10

James Kavanaugh, together with his brothers Daniel and Loughlin, fled Ireland during the "Potato Famine" and landed at the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana circa 1847.

James Kavanaugh went "West" to California and later settled in Washington Territory. Daniel and Loughlin Kavanaugh both married and located in the state of Mississippi.

Other members of this family emigrated to Canada - subsequent generations came to the U.S. via the state of Michigan. Some settled in Minnesota, while others went to the Mid-West.

Searching for the descendents of Daniel and Loughlin Kavanaugh of Mississippi.
