Eddie
thanks for your message. We are pretty sure we have established our ancestors as follows>
my Grandfather was Walter Kaye who lived in Leeds . He was the son of George Allen Kaye who was born in Wood Top Honley in april 1853 . He married Hannah Sykes. His father
was John Kaye born in about 1818 and was married in 1843 to Ellen Ann Hitchinson in Huddersfield. John Kayes father was called George Kaye but this is as far as we have got so far. As far as Joseph Kaye is concernedwe did find one on the 1841 census who was married to Mary and they ad the following people not necessarily their children due to the age difference. He was 60 and Mary was 55 and they had 3 children as follows John aged 20, William and George twins both aged 15 . They lived at Lockwood Yard Huddersf.
now do not think they were related to our Kaye family but you never know.
Would appreciate any further assistance you could offer after reviewing the details above
best regards
Geoff Kaye
