Hi

I do have in my family a Joseph Kaye who was born on December 23rd 1806 - christened on January 11th 1807. He was the younger brother of my great grandparent Paul Kaye. I did not find any further details of Joseph on later census records which I took at the time to indicate that he had died young. He had two brothers (Paul and Charles) and sisters (Eliza, Maria, Lydia and Ann) His father was Simeon Kay who was a corn miller in Holmfirth - Simeon's wife was Ruth. Simeons father I am fairly sure was Paul Kaye born in 1754. (and if Paul was the father of Simeon then Simeon's father was John Kaye birth date yet to be confirmed)

When I collected the information above las year I was still looking around the middle to late 1800's and I have intentions to go back to Huddersfield library to go back one or two further generations as well as confirm the information I have now.

There were three Kaye families in the Huddersfield area - do you have any other detail that will help to confirm ? In Holmfirth at the time, the Kaye family was Weslyan Methodist.

best regards

Allen Kaye
