It is to be hoped that you find a Simeon or Paul at least although John, Charles was also known in the family. There are places called South Elmsall and North Elmsall in Yorkshire which are about 5 miles from where I was born in Skellow near Doncaster - the move by my father to this area happened in the early 1900's though via Sheffield and Hull. Perhaps there were already other family there before ? I am going home this weekend to visit my mother and will have a look to see if there are any records in the area.

PS I have seen a reference to Kaye and Hunts Elmsall Inn in connection with a map published in 1837. If this is the pub then it was called Elmsall after he emigrated in 1832 (if I read the text correctly but I may be misinterpreting it) - maybe he was following family ? - follow the Tours link and Oaks 2 tour.
