I have one possible contact with Halifax NS and that is a letter from Joseph Kaye christened 13 Aug 1820 in Elland Yorkshire England. The youngest son of Benjamin Kaye and Grace Calverley he wrote to his brothers in Elland in 1856 from Halifax NS having set up a trading business there. I do not know if he settled there but one of my grandfathers brothers Frank Edward Kaye used to write to relatives in Halifax NS until his death.
