I have just started to trace my family tree. My G-Grandfather was George Allen Kaye born in Honley in 1853 and married to Hannah Sykes also born in Honley in 1856. His father was John Kaye and his mother was Ellen Ann Hutchinson. This information is from Georges birth certificate and information given to us by our family.
George had more than 10 children only 4 of which survived Ada, George, Lewis and Walter who was my Grandfather. Walter married Marie-Jane Wood and they lived in Holbeck, Leeds. Walter was born in 1894. We know that in 1881 (from the census) that George and Hannah were living in Oatland Avenue, Leeds.

Please contact us if this information helps you in any way, or if you can supply us with any information which might help us. We are finding it frustrating to obtain information as we live in Italy, therefore no chance of visiting the local library to find birth, certificates etc.

Best regards
Geoff Kaye
