I started working with the Kaylor family because one on our Warvel's (Elizabeth) married a Reuben Kaylor in Rockingham County, Virginia in 1829.
I was told that there was a Kaylor family history, compiled in 1939. It was also told to me that there were three brothers who arrived in 1767 etc.(sure here we go again!) I never saw this history but only have word of mouth about it.
But indeed if your will look at "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" by Ralph Strassburger you will find:
Ship Britannia on Oct 26, 1767 at Philadelphia a Michael Kohler, Johannes Kohler and Mathias/Matteus Kohler.
I was told that Mathias had three children and settled in Virginia and West Virginia.
Johannes had eight children and settled in Virginia and Ohio.
Michael had five children and settled in Virginia and Ohio. One of Michael's children
was a John George Kaylor which is the line we are following. The name early was often spelled Koehler, Keller.
