Origin of Keylor

I am trying to track down the origin of the name Keylor, pronounced Kaylor. I have been told that is derived from the German name Koehler. A German woman told me that Koehler was pronounced "kooler." Could anyone tell me how KAYLOR would be or could be spelled in German?

The Keylor family I am researching is from Monroe County Ohio and can be traced back to Greene County Pa in the 1820s with the same spelling. Before that, I have no sure origins.
