I am so glad i found this site, i have a detailed history, as detailed as you can get on something so old...
Charles John kaylor left sarah Ann Van Dyke and their family and moved to Mi with Melissa Jan Armstrong. farmed a rented farm in MI in the 1900. Served in I 39 Ohio Infantry. Enlisted April 5, 1865 in sandusky, OH and was allegedly discharged July 1865 in Louisville, KY. There was no record of discharge and was unable to draw a pension. Lived in mermillion, erie Co. OH
with his uncle, aunt and cousin daniel Shaffer, (the aunt was the kaylor relative). Before he enlisted. Was a wood cutter in 1865 and one foot had ax scars at the time he was trying to get a pension. In 1906 was farming. was 5'5 1/4" tall and weighed 160lbs. in 1906, blue eyes dark brown hair that had turned gray by 1906

died: bright's disease, 79 yrs. 10 months, 3 days old

charles and sarah marriage rec Vol A pg 252, Ottawa Co. OH 2. 1870-1880 census, Clay Twp.

He is buried in the Fennvile Cem. in michigan
