Tim:

My great-grandmother, Mary Ann Kealy (Kealey) born 1848 was from Magheramore, Dungiven (Banagher parish). She came to the US about 1864-66 timeframe. She married Thomas Mara in NYC and they lived for a number of years in Lambertville, NJ but he went back to NYC when he became ill and died in NYC. Mary Ann Kealy (Mara) ended up in Philly. She had several siblings that came over to the US also but I believe they stayed in the New York area.
Mary Ann's parents were William Kealy and Mary (Polly) Devine. I have a cousin who lives in Belfast who would be very interested in the letters that you speak of.
