Hi Anne-Marie,
These are the children of Michael Keane/Kain/Kane and Ellen Naughton..
Thomas ..( our direct line) Baptized 1817.sponsors ..Andy O'Halloran and Margaret McInerney.
John.. baptized 1819.sponsors ..James Keane/Kain/Kane (a brother of the Michael above ) and Ann O'Halloran.
Mary.. baptized 1822.sponsors ..John Fitzpatrick and Bridget Mirrane.
James..baptized 1824.sponsors.. Mr Moriarty and Mary O'Neill.
Ellen..baptized 1827.sponsors.. Patrick Rannells and Eliza Mirrane.
The above were all baptized in the Parish of Cratloe co Clare.
There could bemore children, but we know of only one, a Michael, born c1815. but he was not baptized in Cratloe co Clare with the above. He was (we believe)born in Galway.
The thought is that Michael Keane/Kain/Kane and Ellen Naughton were married in or around Galway, had a couple of children , and thencame on hard times, and ended up in Cratloe.
We had an extensive profesional search done for their marriage in co Clare, but they couldnt be found.
Michael born c1815 ( son of Michael and Ellen )later married Catherine Cunningham from Galway and had three children born in Galway. All three came to Australia.Martin, William and Norah.
His brother Thomas b 1817, married a girl from Galway also ..a Margaret Carrick. Her brother Thomas Carrick then married back into the Keane family. They all lived and died in Sydney ,and are now resting in the Roman Catholic section in Rookwood cemetry Sydney.
The name Patrick does run down through the generations,
OurThomas b1817,had a son Patrick in 1864, but he died a baby.
I have not found any at the top end,(1800's) cheers Jenny
